"The Lion King" is back. The visually -enhanced re-release of the Disney Film about the lion prince finished #1 this weekend against all competition. Beating out "Drive", "Straw Dogs", and "Contagion". The re-release of  Disney's 1994 epic film.  The film roared in to the top spot with $8.8 million on Friday. "Contagion" finished at #2. With the shocked faces Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow and the deadly spread of this killer virus. The suspense and frightful scenes in the movie as the virus moving from person to person , city to city, country to country, infection millions, finished up #1 this weekend.

Eddie Murphy will be hosting the 84th academy award which will be telecast Feb.26th on ABC, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science recently made a statement. There was alot of chatter over the weekend about Murphy possibly being the choice to host the show.  Many are not suprise as Murphy is starring in the upcoming film "Tower Heist". "Tower Heist" is set to open in November.

Justin Timberlake showed up last night in his packed New York restuarant, Southern Hospitality. He said, "I did a country song. I just disguised it as something else." With that said, Timberlake, in a straw fedora and playing acoustic on guitar was backed by members of the Memphis band FreeSol. He went right into his chart topping 2002 jam, "What goes around......Comes Around." Special guest and last nights event included Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

Several NYPD officials cruisers lined the block outside the restaurant but there were no reports of incidents. Timberlake and FreeSol will play another free show tonight at the Irving Plaza. Show Time starts at 9:01pm.
